Bond It FS4 Fireshield AC Intumescent Acoustic Sealant – 4 Hour Fire Rated
Bond It FS4 Fireshield AC – Intumescent Acoustic Sealant
Bond It FS4 Fireshield AC is a high performance, flexible acrylic intumescent acoustic sealant. In the event of a fire it swells (intumesces) to provide an inert barrier to smoke and flame, helping to maintain fire integrity in suitable internal sealing details.
Ideal for interior linear joints and selected penetration seals through plasterboard partitions. It is solvent-free, non-shrinking, permanently flexible, and can be overpainted within 1 hour (using a suitable paint system).
Key Features:
- Up to 4 Hour Fire Rating: Tested to relevant EN standards for approved joint & penetration details.
- Intumescent Action: Swells when exposed to heat to help form a smoke/flame barrier.
- Acoustic Performance: Supports airborne sound insulation when used correctly in partition details.
- Solvent-Free: Non-hazardous, low odour and easy to use.
- Rapid Drying: Non-slumping and rapid skinning.
- Paintable: Overpaintable within 1 hour.
- Non-Shrinking & Flexible: Designed for long-term internal joint sealing.
Typical Uses:
- Sealing interior linear joints in floors and ceilings
- Dry lining systems and partition walls
- Plasterboard and suspended ceiling joints
- Approved penetration seals (e.g. steel/copper pipes through plasterboard – see test detail)

Important Notes (Read Before Use):
- Internal use only.
- Not suitable for external joints or where joint movement exceeds ±12.5%.
- Not for use around fire doors (and not tested for perimeter sealing around wooden door frames).
- Fire resistance is detail-dependent (joint design, depth, substrate). Use only in approved/ specified details.
Application Tips:
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, oil and contaminants. Apply using a standard sealant gun. Cut nozzle at 45° and slightly larger than the joint. Fill all crevices for full contact and tool down with a wetted spatula. Remove excess with soapy water before skinning.
